old news2nd November 2006The Ben Waters Band made its ninth visit to the Cork International Jazz Festival on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th October. We played in the Metropole Hotel’s main ballroom, top of the bill on both nights, both nights sold out, with the whole room dancing from front to back from the first number. What’s more, after all these years, we finally made it onto the official festival T-shirt! Hurrah! The ultimate accolade. I’ve got a couple of Little Dixie gigs coming up, at the Three Horseshoes in Burton Bradstock, near Bridport on Thursday 2nd and at the Sailor’s Return in Nicholas Street, Weymouth on Saturday 4th November. The Ben Waters Band tops the bill at Warmwell Holiday Park, near Weymouth on Sunday 5th November. Also on the bill are Bad Influence, Blue Thunder, Rollo Markee & The Tailshakers, The Werewolves of London and Little Stevie & The Business. If you want to book tickets, ring the holiday shop at Cricket St Thomas direct on 01460 30111 for special late booking offers. The following week we begin recordings for the proposed new Ben CD at Jools Holland’s Hellicon Studios in London, before heading off for our third visit this year to Storyville Happy Jazz Club in Helsinki, Finland on 9th, 10th and 11th November.
