Little Dixie regrouped at the George Hotel, Reforne, Portland on Sunday 28th Feb, at 4.30 p.m. As always, it was a great afternoon at the George, a tiny pub with a fantastic atmosphere, and an extremely discerning audience that knows its blues/soul/roots music inside out. This was followed by a Dixie debut at the Pen & Quill, Shuttern, Taunton, Somerset on Friday 2nd April.

There's lots of developments regarding the Barrelhouse Blues Orchestra – a live recording of the Orchestra's performance of the Rolling Stones classic Jumping Jack Flash, recorded at Bryanston Arts Centre and featuring ex-Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, is due for release as a single on Monday 24th April, 37 years to the day after the original Stones single hit the streets. There's a lot of media interest about this event, and a tie-in with Bournemouth Football Club is emerging. More details as things develop.

Speaking of developments, Robbie McIntosh is now officially a part of Norah Jones' band. Anyone who's heard his wonderful acoustically-orientated album ‘Unsung', or heard his playing in an unplugged-type environment will know how much sense it makes. He'll be touring with the band soon – check out www.robbiemcintosh.com for details.

Meanwhile, the regular jam sessions at Mariner's, Maiden Street, Weymouth continue every Thursday night. As ever, new bands, established acts and solo musicians are invited to take to the stage. If you want to book a slot (maximum four numbers) contact me.
